Glorious Father,

As this season of fasting comes to an end, help us continue

to fast and feast in ways that please You:

Fast from judging others;

Feast on Christ dwelling in them.

Fast from fear of illness;

Feast on the healing power of God.

Fast from words that pollute;

Feast on speech that purifies.

Fast from discontent;

Feast on gratitude.

Fast from anger;

Feast on patience.

Fast from pessimism;

Feast on hope.

Fast from negatives;

Feast on encouragement.

Fast from bitterness,

Feast on forgiveness.

Fast from self-concern;

Feast on compassion.

Fast from suspicion;

Feast on truth.

Fast from gossip;

Feast on purposeful silence.

Fast from problems that overwhelm;

Feast on prayer that sustains.

Fast from anxiety;

Week 5

Daily Prayer of Confession

Heavenly Father, in the quiet and stillness of this moment, I come before You humbly dedicating all that I am and all that I do to Your divine purpose.  I am reminded of how Jesus, in His earthly life, dedicated Himself entirely to Your will, seeking always to glorify Your name above all else.  Lord, help me to follow His exemplary footsteps.  When I rise, may I rise for You.  When I speak, may my words reflect Your love.  When I work, may it be for Your glory and not mine.  I lay down my ambitions, dreams and plans at the foot of Your throne, trusting that as I commit them to You, You will guide and prosper them according to Your perfect design.  Grant me the grace to persevere in times of uncertainty and the wisdom to discern Your voice amidst the clamor of the world.  In Jesus' precious name, I dedicate my life anew to Your service.  Amen

Week 4

Daily Prayer of Confession

Lord Jesus Christ

You prayed for your friends that they would be one as you and your Fater are one.  We confess our resistance to your prayer.  We have failed to maintain the unity of the Spirit.  We have broken the bond of peace.  For the times we have not listened to each other, when we have spoken in anger, haste or fear, we are sorry.  For the times we have not loved each other, we are sorry.  For the harm that our disunity has done to our witness to the Gospel, we are sorry.  Have mercy on us, we pray.  Restore us to friendship with you and with one another, through the power of your Spirit.  Amen.
